RIVER SWIMMING + TRIATHA-LONG MADNESS

My Story

Following the success of our 'big cold swim' in October 2016, Imogen, Jenny and myself (Mo) are reuniting for a summer series of sporting trials in aid of Kennedy's UK.

This time we are abandoning the relative tranquility of Brockwell Lido and taking things up a notch as we face the muddy and chilly waters of the Thames.

1) On June 24th, we will be splashing through 3 kilometers of the river Thames in Marlow while trying to avoid swallowing too much river water.

2) Becuase we are gluttons for punishment, Jenny and Mo will also be partaking in their first ever triathlon two weeks later on July 8th.

3) On the same weekend Imogen will be taking on a 2 mile swim in the Cotswolds!

Why?

We are raising money for Kennedy's UK, the only charity in the UK raising money for research into Kennedy's Disease, a very rare degenerative, neurological disease causing muscular distrophy. Becuase of the lack of funding and thus research around this disease, at present there is no treatment and no cure.

Mo's dad was diasgnosed with Kennedy's in 2016 and has faced this diagnosis with quiet determination and courage. While we can't promise to emulate all of the same qualities during these sporting events, we will certainly do our best!

If you would like to support our cause, it really would mean the world to us and will make the taste of Thames river water that bit more palatable!

LOVE AND GRATITUDE

Mo, Jenny and Imogen,
